The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said it has arrested a local man for the sexual assault of a juvenile after a three-month investigation.

Investigators arrested Jason Brown, 41, on Wednesday, Oct. 2, on three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempting to influence a public official, all felonies, according to a sheriff’s office news release. Brown was also arrested on a charge of complicity in the delinquency of a minor, which is a misdemeanor.

The investigation reportedly revealed that Brown, who lives in Summit County, met the minor at a bus stop in Silverthorne. According to the sheriff’s office, over the next year, Brown maintained a relationship with the teen, making over 1,000 phone calls to him, supplying him with alcohol, cocaine and ketamine, and assaulting him.

Multiple witnesses, phone records and other evidence corroborated the teen’s account of the events and led law enforcement to obtain an arrest warrant for Brown, the release said. At the time of the arrest, investigators executed the search warrant without incident.

The sexual assault charges accuse Brown of overpowering the teen with physical force and drugging him with ketamine “to the point where they didn’t know what was happening,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Brown was released from Summit County Jail on Thursday, Oct. 3, on $15,000 bail, the release said. He is scheduled to appear in Summit County Court on November 6 at 1:30 p.m

Summit County Sheriff Jaime FitzSimons said in a statement: “I want to thank the dedicated detectives and deputies who worked tirelessly to build this case, resulting in a significant arrest.”
