Country music legend Garth Brooks and his longtime wife Trisha Yearwood opened up about their strong marriage before he was accused of sexual assault.

“The best part about becoming Ms. Yearwood’s partner is the good times, but also going through the bad times together because it makes you one and tests your courage,” Brooks told People magazine.

“But what you find is that you have a love that will last beyond this life. I found her in the last life. I will find her in the next life,” he added.

“At the end of the day we are best friends. We enjoy each other’s company,” Yearwood said.

“When we tour together, people always ask us, ‘You’re with your husband all the time, what’s it like?’ I think, ‘We actually enjoy each other’s company and I can’t imagine doing this build without you.'”

According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Brooks, 62, allegedly raped “Jane Roe” during a work trip in 2019. According to the documents, the woman was first hired in 1999 to do makeup and hair styling for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood. She began working on makeup and hair for Brooks in 2017, several years before the alleged assault.

According to a complaint obtained by Fox News Digital, Brooks filed a lawsuit allegedly attempting to block the makeup artist’s upcoming lawsuit. In the document filed under “John Doe,” Brooks denied the woman’s claims.

“Over the past two months, I have been harassed endlessly with threats, lies and tragic stories about my future if I did not write a multi-million dollar check,” Brooks said in a statement obtained by Fox News Digital Thursday. “It was like a loaded gun was being waved in my face.
