Tragic fire claims life of 7-year-old boy in Karimnagar | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A seven-year-old boy, who tried in vain to escape a fire that ravaged his house at Manakondur in Karimnagar district, died in the accident.
Sai Kumar, a UKG student, was home alone when the accident occurred in his village Edulagattepalle on Friday. After a short circuit, a power cable is said to have broken and curtains in a room caught fire.
The boy, who was sleeping at the time, got up and tried to escape the fire. His parents, Raju and Anitha, and his younger sister were away when the fire broke out.
By the time the fire department was called and a fire engine arrived to put out the fire, Sai Kumar had died in the fire. The boy’s mother, who came home, tried to get inside to save her child, but the thick smoke that enveloped the house made it impossible to get inside.
To save himself, the boy fled from the room where the fire had caught to another room, but there was no escape from there either as the fire spread to that room, fire officials said.
The parents are daily bets. What made the situation more difficult for the boy was that there were a lot of sackcloth in the house that caught fire. The boy’s father also sells burlap and stores some of it in his house.
