Police are responding to a fatal knife attack in Northland believed to be domestic violence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City police say a man found stabbed to death Saturday was likely the result of a domestic violence situation.

According to KCPD, officers were dispatched to the 8800 block of NE 105th Place around 11 a.m. on Oct. 5. The person who made the call said there was a disturbance in a neighboring house.

When officers arrived, they were led to a residence and found a man in one of the bedrooms with what appeared to be stab wounds. Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

According to preliminary investigations, homicide detectives assume that there was a fight between the victim and another man, which led to the stabbing.

The suspect left the scene before police arrived, but investigators have his identity and are working to locate him. The suspect is believed to be a family member, making the murder a domestic violence case.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

Anyone who saw or heard anything is asked to contact homicide investigators directly at 816-234-5043 or anonymously to the TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for tips submitted anonymously to the TIPS Hotline.
