Suspect is at large after hitting two pedestrians, suspected drunk driver rams police car

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were injured and a suspect is at large after a pedestrian robbery south of downtown.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., police responded to South St. Mary’s Street at Claudia Street for reports of a pedestrian accident.

When first responders arrived, officers treated the two injured people and secured the scene for crime scene and traffic investigators.

While police were providing assistance to the two hit-and-run victims, a woman who was allegedly driving drunk crashed into a traffic police officer’s patrol vehicle.

Neither the officer nor the driver were injured. The 37-year-old woman was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for drunk driving

The two victims, a 38-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man, refused emergency medical services and were not transported to hospital.

The suspect accused of the collision with the pedestrians is currently unknown. If caught, he will be charged with failure to stop and failure to render aid.
