Trump will support Butler at the site of the attack while Harris visits North Carolina to assess damage to Helene: live updates

Trump will support Butler at the site of the attack while Harris visits North Carolina to assess damage to Helene: live updates

Kamala Harris calls supporting Liz Cheney a ‘tremendous honor’

Donald Trump returns to the venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he survived an assassination attempt three months ago.

Billionaire and ardent Trump supporter Elon Musk will be in attendance. This is the first time the Tesla CEO has appeared publicly at a campaign rally for the former president since he endorsed Trump in July, immediately after the shocking July 13 incident.

The family of Corey Comperatore, a former fire chief who was killed in the attack, will also attend Saturday’s Butler rally, ABC News reported.

The rally comes a day after Kamala Harris slashed Trump’s job record during a rally in Michigan, seeking to maintain momentum after receiving high-profile endorsements from Liz Cheney and Bruce Springsteen.

“Donald Trump is not a friend of workers,” the vice president told the crowd, arguing that Trump hasn’t done enough to help the auto industry or support the United Auto Workers union, which went on strike like Joe Biden.

This week’s solid jobs report, showing the U.S. economy added 254,000 jobs in September, is also likely to help Harris as Trump seeks to blame the Biden-Harris administration for inflation.

Yet political rivals remain at an impasse in swing states, polls show.

Who is ahead in the swing states?

According to polls, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump are tied in most swing states.

The vice president has a lead of less than a point in Pennsylvania before Trump returns to the site of his assassination attempt on Saturday. Barack Obama is expected to appear at a Harris campaign stop in Pittsburgh next week, which could give her a boost in the must-win state.

Also on Saturday, Harris will travel to North Carolina to survey the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. Polls show that Trump currently has a narrow lead in the battleground state – less than a percentage point.

According to FiveThirtyEight, Trump is leading in Georgia by 1.4 percent as of October 4. The state recently experienced a victory for abortion rights when a judge ruled that the state’s strict six-week abortion ban was unconstitutional. State officials have already appealed the ruling. The decision comes days after it was revealed that two women in Georgia died due to delays in care caused by the law’s confusing wording.

Trump returns to the site of the attack

On Saturday, the former president will return to the venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a 20-year-old gunman attempted to take his own life.

One supporter was killed and two others were injured. Trump left with an ear wound — and a promise to return to the swing state venue soon.

His rally will feature increased security and a guest appearance from billionaire Elon Musk.

Trump promised to pick up where he left off on July 13th. Earlier this week he told a crowd in Erie, Pennsylvania, “I think I’ll start the speech by saying, ‘As I said.’

Who is ahead in the polls?

In less than 32 days, Vice President Kamala Harris will face Donald Trump as Americans cast their ballots in the 2024 election.

In a survey, Republican JD Vance took advantage of the wave of success in the vice presidential debate against Tim Walz and recorded a significant increase in his popularity; which was previously at a record low.

Meanwhile, Harris maintains a slim lead over Trump, but a new poll suggests a growing number of Republicans could vote for Democrats next month.

Only 1 percent of voters said the debate changed their minds about how they will vote. How will Harris and Trump fare in November?

Is this the sequel to “Jewish Space Lasers”?

Greene, a Georgia Republican, posted on X late Thursday night: “Yes, they can control the weather. It’s ridiculous for someone to lie and say it’s not possible.”

She didn’t elaborate on who “they” are.

Watch: Liz Cheney mocks Trump’s fake tan

Republican Liz Cheney makes fun of Donald Trump’s fake tan

Former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney mocked Donald Trump’s “spray tan” when she first ran for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Cheney joined Harris on stage in Ripon, Wisconsin on Thursday (October 3). Cheney told the crowd how her 10-year-old sealed envelopes for Republican President Gerald Ford’s re-election campaign and how she cast her first vote for Republican President Ronald Reagan in 1984. She said, “In other words, I was a Republican before Donald Trump started spray tanning.” Cheney’s joke drew much applause and laughter.
