2 dead, including 11-year-old girl, in triple shooting in LaPlace

LAPLACE, La. (WVUE) – An 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man were killed in an overnight triple shooting in LaPLace on Friday.

According to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, the shooting occurred on Friday, October 4, at approximately 11:48 p.m. in the 1300 block of North Sugar Ridge Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims, an 11-year-old girl and a 50-year-old man, were taken to a hospital but died from their injuries.

A third victim with a graze wound is expected to recover.

Investigators are working to identify a suspect and a motive.
