“Trisha Yearwood’s home sold a day before Brooks’ assault lawsuit”

“Trisha Yearwood’s home sold a day before Brooks’ assault lawsuit”

Trisha Yearwood had been trying to sell her Tennessee mansion – the historic home where she filmed Trisha’s Southern Cooking For 11 years – and finally she did it. The Brentwood, Tennessee, home was sold a day before she filed a lawsuit accusing her husband, Garth Brooks, of sexual assault and rape.

Realtor.com notes the home sold for $3.34 million. Yearwood originally listed the property for sale in 2023 for $4.5 million before taking it off the market and reducing the price earlier this year.

She had owned the 600 square meter property with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms since 2000. Yearwood filmed more than 100 episodes of her cooking show in the kitchen, which is equipped with Wolf appliances including a double oven and six-burner cooktop, a warming drawer, a 30-inch gourmet microwave and a subzero refrigerator.

According to Realtor.com, the home sold on Wednesday (October 2).

What is Garth Brooks accused of?

On Thursday (October 3), “Jane Roe” filed a lawsuit in California accusing Garth Brooks of sexual assault and battery. Roe — a former makeup and hair artist for Brooks and Yearwood — says she was the victim of many unwanted sexual advances and fondling from Brooks, and in 2019, the country star allegedly forced penetration on her in a hotel room.

In September, before her lawsuit was made public, Brooks’ legal team filed a motion to proceed under a pseudonym in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi Northern Division (Roe lives in Mississippi).

The country star hoped to stop Roe from filing or continue under the pseudonyms “John Doe” and “Jane Doe.” Brooks says his goal was “to speak out against extortion and defamation of reputation. We filed the lawsuit anonymously to help families on both sides.”

“I trust the system, I am not afraid of the truth and I am not the man they made me out to be,” Brooks continued in a statement to the media.
