The Turkish company Aselsan has introduced the ZMA-X ground attack drone

The Turkish company Aselsan has presented an interesting model of an unmanned ground attack vehicle based on the ACV-15 BMP.

We know that

At the Teknofest 2024 exhibition, Aselsan showed the ZMA-X unmanned platform.

This heavy ground-based drone is based on the modernized ACV-15 infantry fighting vehicle and is equipped with a remotely controlled 25mm Nefer turret system. The vehicle is designed to support manned armored vehicles, fire support for infantry, reconnaissance and logistics support. This is Aselsan’s third heavy ground drone, following the launch of Shadow Rider and Alpar.

The main features of the ZMA-X are:

  • 25mm Nefer automatic cannon;
  • The LIDAR system provides improved situational awareness;
  • additional armor plates for increased protection;
  • Day and night visualization systems and a gyro-stabilized platform for precision shooting.

Flashback

The ACV-15 is an amphibious infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) developed by the Turkish FNSS Savunma Sistemleri. It is designed to perform various combat missions, including transporting infantry and supporting tanks in combat environments.

The ACV-15 weighs 14 tons and has a crew of 3 men and 8 paratroopers. The main armament consists of a 25 mm machine cannon and a 7.62 mm machine gun.
