GREENSVILLE COUNTY, Va. – Three inmates were stabbed to death at the Greensville Correctional Center on Thursday, sources tell CBS 6 investigative reporter Laura French.

Sources said one of the inmates was flown to VCU Medical Center with deep cuts to his left stomach, arms and back of his head. The second victim suffered cuts to his head and a third suffered cuts to his hand.

According to the source, an inmate was responsible for the knife attacks.

This comes after sources reported that two Greensville correctional officers were stabbed by an inmate at the facility on Tuesday. Both officers were released from the hospital.

According to sources, the inmate who was allegedly involved in the knife attacks on officers was also responsible for the killing of a K-9 at Sussex I State Prison.
