Woman attacks after man stabs her in the chest

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Court documents shed light on a weekend stabbing incident in Montgomery.

A 67-year-old man was stabbed in the chest with a steak knife after refusing a woman’s demand for money, according to legal documents.

Katrina Nichole Cheeks is accused of stabbing the man to death at a gas station in the 500 block of West Fairview Avenue on Saturday around 3:20 p.m.

The filing states that Cheeks allegedly tried to reach into his pants pockets to steal money, even after the man was stabbed.

Cheeks was arrested hours after the incident and is currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center on a first-degree robbery charge.

No information could currently be given about the condition of the stabbed man.
