CEDAR RAPIDS — An Anamosa man was arrested Thursday in Linn County and accused of sexually abusing a child in 2017 in Cedar Rapids.

Bryan Anthony Garcia, 37, is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

According to a criminal complaint, the girl, now 12, told her mother that Garcia sexually abused her three times in 2017, when the girl and her mother lived in Cedar Rapids.

She also recounted the abuse to a forensic interviewer at a child protective center in Michigan, according to the complaint.

An arrest warrant was filed for Garcia on September 27.

Garcia made his initial appearance in Linn County District Court on Thursday and is being held in the Linn County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond. A no-contact order was issued in the girl’s name.
