Garth Brooks has returned to the stage after being accused of sexual assault and battery in a new lawsuit filed Thursday by a makeup artist.

According to the lawsuit obtained by CNN, the unidentified woman named “Jane Roe” claims that she started working as a hairdresser and makeup artist for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood, in 1999. Brooks hired her for the same role in 2017, according to the lawsuit.

It is alleged that Brooks forcibly raped her in a Los Angeles hotel room in May 2019 while he was recording a Grammys tribute performance.

When Brooks learned of the lawsuit, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share a photo of the crowd at his last concert.

“If there was ever a night I really needed this, TONIGHT was that night! Thank you for my life!!!!! Kind regards,” (sic) he captioned the post in the early hours of Friday morning.
