Zombies, ghosts, pirates and princesses prepare for “Scree on the Square” in downtown Statesboro. The Downtown Statesboro Development Authority, in collaboration with Zaxby’s and a number of other local businesses, will host Statesboro’s largest, family-friendly Halloween celebration on Saturday starting at 4:30 p.m. “Scare on the Square started five years ago when a small group wanted to dance “Thriller” on Main Street,” said Allen Muldrew, executive director of the Main Street Statesboro/Downtown Statesboro Development Authority. “The event has now developed into an exciting community event with family fun for thousands.”
