Emmert was placed on leave pending a state police investigation

On Thursday afternoon, The Reporter received the following statement from the City of Atlanta:

“The City of Atlanta is aware of the ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police and is cooperating fully with the investigation. The city believes she is not the target of the investigation. The city is awaiting further information from law enforcement regarding the outcome of the investigation. Until the city has additional information, City Manager and Building Commissioner Andy Emmert will be on administrative leave.”
