Riley County police close road due to ‘suspicious device’

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A road was closed while police investigated a “suspicious device.”

On Oct. 3, just before 9 p.m., Riley County Police announced on social media that officers had temporarily closed the 1000 block of Ratone Street while police investigated a “suspicious device.”

Then, just before 9:20 p.m., RCPD announced that the device was deemed harmless and posed no threat to the public.

RCPD said they are working to clear the scene, which should be completed within the hour.
