Rebel Wilson is suing Deb producers for theft and sexual misconduct

Rebel Wilson counters The Deb Producers Amanda Ghost, Cameron Gregor and Vince Holden accused them of a “disturbing pattern” of “theft, bullying and sexual misconduct.”

The countersuit comes months after Ghost, Gregor and Holden sued Wilson for defamation in July after she initially accused them of sexual harassment and embezzlement in an Instagram video. The producing trio claimed in their lawsuit that Wilson lied in an attempt to release their film The Deb – which Wilson directed, produced and starred in – at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and also secured a screenwriter for the film.

Wilson’s new lawsuit alleges that Ghost sexually harassed the film’s lead actress, Charlotte MacInnes, and “forced MacInnes to live with her in her Bondi Beach penthouse apartment,” where “Ghost showered and bathed with MacInnes.” It was also claimed that “Ghost was overheard making overtly sexual comments to MacInnes on set.”

The trio is also accused of plotting to inflate the film’s budget and pocket the excess funds, the lawsuit says. The lawsuit said they “embezzled $900,000 from the film’s budget and divided it between them.”

When Wilson reported the allegations to executive producer Danny Cohen, whom he allegedly ignored, the lawsuit said, the trio of producers “launched a malicious and relentless campaign of retaliation against her.”

Wilson claimed the ongoing threats and intimidation tactics led her to hire “personal security on set.” The Deb“so she could finish filming. The complaint also alleged that Gregor threatened to “terminate” the project and “fire its approximately 300 cast and crew members” unless she signed a document “stating her complaint.” about Ghost’s allegations of sexual misconduct.

Wilson’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, wrote in a statement: “Amanda Ghost, Cameron Gregor and Vince Holden attempted to manipulate the narrative by recklessly filing an outlandish lawsuit.” Their real problem? So far, only a fraction of their outrageous behavior has been brought to light. In their desperation to change the story, they failed to consider that this strategy would only result in RW filing a countersuit that would expose a wealth of their shocking misconduct, to which there are many witnesses. Many brave people have come forward who have had similar experiences with Amanda Ghost. While this was unfortunate, it was not a surprise. Stay tuned, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s a lot more to come.”
