Matthew Gray Gubler of “Criminal Minds” is set to direct the pilot episode of “Einstein” at CBS

Criminal minds Fan favorite Matthew Gray Gubler will return to television as the lead in a new CBS criminal procedural pilot, tentatively titled Einstein. Gubler will star and produce the series, which follows Albert Einstein’s brilliant but headstrong great-grandson, who is reluctantly persuaded to help a local detective solve complex cases – giving new meaning to his previously directionless life . The project marks a reunion for Gubler with CBS and CBS Studios, with whom he has worked for a long time Criminal minds. He was the only long-time cast member of the series who did not return for the 2022 sequel. Criminal Minds: Evolution. (deadline)
