Michigan State at Oregon odds, picks and predictions

The Michigan State Spartans (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten) visit the sixth-seeded team Oregon Ducks (4-0, 1-0) Friday in Big Ten Game 1 at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze the 24/7 college football odds from BetMGM Sportsbook Michigan State vs. Oregon Opportunitiesand make our college football picks and predictions.

The Spartans are in the midst of a difficult three-game stretch. Michigan State lost 23-19 at Boston College on Sept. 21 despite being a five-point underdog, while it lost 38-7 to third-place Ohio State last weekend as a 23.5-point home dog. The Under has cashed three straight times for MSU this season and four of five games.

Michigan State has a 1-1 straight-up (SU) mark in two road games, but is 2-0 against the spread (ATS) mark while splitting the over-under.

The Ducks are undefeated, but are just 1-3 ATS. At home they are 2-0 ATS, averaging 30.5 points per game (PPG), allowing 24.0 PPG with a 1-1 O/U record. The Ducks have scored 34 or more points in their last three games while allowing 14 or fewer points in three of their four games.

The last time these teams met was on December 31, 2018 in the Redbox Bowl in Santa Clara, with Oregon defeating Michigan State 7-6. The Vegas line was pick with the under (45.5) and cashed in easily… but that was 6 years ago.

Michigan State at Oregon tips and predictions

forecast

Oregon 45, Michigan State 17

Money line

Oregon (-3000) costs 30x the potential return. This is obviously far too risky to not provide nearly enough reward. In other words, you have to risk $100 for every $3.33 in winnings. There is never any reason to justify betting on such a strong underdog.

HAPPEN.

Against the spread

OREGON -23.5 (-110) It’s worth a look to set the course at home. Michigan State is going through a very difficult stretch, facing a top 10 team for the second straight time in 6 days.

Last Saturday we saw Ohio State beat Sparty 38-7 in East Lansing, and it’s hard to imagine Michigan State doing much better against Oregon’s high-powered offense.

The Ducks have scored 34 or more points in all three games against FBS this season, while the Spartans have scored 19 or fewer points in three of their four games against FBS opponents. QB Aidan Chiles has a bright future for Michigan State, but he and the offense are somewhat limited right now.

Over/Under

OVER 52.5 (-110) could be the best play on the board, as Oregon has the potential to handle most of that number on its own.

The Over has cashed in 2 of the last 3 games for the Ducks, and their only home game against an FBS opponent this season ended with 71 combined points – with Oregon defeating Boise State 37-34 on September 7th.

BET OVER 52.5 and feel safe doing it.
