1 dead after shooting on Johns Island, Charleston police say

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – One person is dead following a shooting outside the Satori West Apartments Thursday evening, according to the Charleston Police Department.

Officers responded to an incident at 8:37 p.m. on Savannah Highway between Bees Ferry Road and Main Road.

The driver, who was the only occupant in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene, Charleston Police Sgt. Christopher Stinson said.

No arrests or injuries were reported.

Stinson expects there will be delays on the Savannah Highway as officers continue their investigation.

Charleston Police are asking anyone who was traveling on Savannah Highway near Parkers Kitchen between 8:30 and 8:40 p.m. to call 843-720-2422 and ask to speak to the detective on duty.
