Man is injured in spark shooting

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on October 3, Sparks Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 4900 block of Palo Alto Circle. Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

The adult male victim was immediately transported to a local hospital by REMSA. The victim’s condition is currently stable.

According to police, during their subsequent investigation, investigators concluded that the victim and Richard Ziegelash, the identified suspect, knew each other.

There are no outstanding suspects and authorities believe there is no ongoing threat to the community.

The following charges are brought against Ziegelasch:

• Discharging a firearm inside an occupied dwelling

• Battery with a deadly weapon

• Attempted murder with a deadly weapon
