Bhagalpur: Tragic bike-truck collision claims lives of young people in Bhagalpur | Patna News

Bhagalpur: A 26-year-old youth died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a speeding truck near Phulbaria Chowk under the police station bypass Bhagalpur district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Shatrughan Yadava resident of Jagdishpur block.
Following the road accident, a mob gathered at the spot and blocked the busy Bhagalpur-Jagdishpur main road, leading to a traffic delay lasting nearly six hours. They also burnt tires on the road, leading to massive traffic jams on both sides of the road connecting Bhagalpur city with Dumka (Jharkhand) via Dhaka Mod-Bounsi.
However, the driver was caught by the mob after chasing the truck and handed over to the local police.
However, the road blockade was lifted after senior officials from Bhagalpur, including SDO Sadar Dhanannjay Kumar and local police officials, reached the spot and pacified the mob by assuring them of taking appropriate action against the truck driver and also providing him adequate compensation to grant relatives of the deceased.
When contacted by TNN on Thursday, the SDO said that an uncontrolled truck had collided with the two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction.
