Perryville man dead after tractor runs over him

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) – A Perryville man is dead after his tractor ran over him Thursday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the incident occurred on Perry County Road 343 at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

According to the accident report, 90-year-old Oliver G. Bachmann started his vehicle, a 1981 John Deere 2640, while standing next to it.

The tractor was in gear and the neutral safety switch was not working properly. According to the Highway Patrol, the tractor rolled over Bachmann and continued east until it hit the right side of a 2008 Dodge Ram.

Bachmann was pronounced dead by Perry County Coroner William Bohnert at 1:36 p.m. and taken to Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

The driver of the Dodge Ram reported no injuries.
