Madera man arrested on child pornography charges

A Madera man was arrested for possession of child pornography, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to MCSO, the Bureau of Investigation received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding internet child pornography activity in the county.

Investigators identified 36-year-old Madera resident Alfredo Lopez as the person suspected of uploading and sharing child abuse material.

On Thursday, the MCSO Bureau of Investigation and the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, along with the Department of Homeland Security investigation, executed a search warrant related to Lopez.

The warrant was served in the 17000 block of Daley Road in Madera County.

After a search of electronic devices in the home, investigators arrested Lopez for possession of child pornography.

Lopez is currently in custody at the Madera County Jail.

All electronic devices associated with Lopez were subject to further examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
