A 10-year-old trainee police officer killed in the Robb Elementary School massacre in Uvalde, Texas, two years ago was posthumously named an honorary NYPD officer on Thursday – warming the hearts of his family.

Jose Flores Jr., who was shot and killed along with 18 other children on May 24, 2022, was sworn in with a police badge of honor by Interim Police Commissioner Thomas Donlon during an emotional ceremony at 1 Police Plaza.

“It feels good what they are doing for my baby and honoring him,” the boy’s father, Jose Flores Sr., told The Post. “His dream was to be an officer and now he is.”

Flores Sr. and his family received an all-expenses paid trip to the Big Apple from Blue Lives Matter NYC after the group learned of his story from Texas police.

The 10-year-old was an honor student with many friends before he was tragically killed by a madman with an AR-15 rifle, his father said.

“He was a good boy. He was a lover of children. He wasn’t a fighter. He was smiling the whole time. Also hyperactive. He was up and down all day talking to me,” Flores Sr. said.

He said the loss of his son was “the hardest thing in life that anyone has to go through” and that “nothing else compares.”

On Thursday, the family toured St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Times Square before the ceremony.

Flores’ brothers Jayce, 2, and Jayden, 8, also received police honor badges.

“It’s an extremely important and emotional, very happy day,” Donlon said.
