HCSO CFO saves woman from dog attack

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Chief Financial Officer Chris Gelonese rescued a woman who was being attacked by two large dogs.

The woman was walking down Monastery Avenue with her two smaller dogs when the larger dogs attacked her and pinned her to the ground.

Gelonese stopped to defend the woman and her dogs until an ambulance arrived to treat the woman.

The heroic act earned Gelonese, who has worked with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office since 1995, high praise from the rest of the sheriff’s department.
