The Iowa City Police Department welcomes two new officers

IOWA CITY, IA – The Iowa City Police Department held a ceremony Thursday to welcome two new officers at Emma Harvat Hall.

Officer Rhonda Hayes is a native of Stanwood, Iowa and holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Simpson College.

Hayes previously worked for the North Liberty Police Department and the Storm Lake Police Department.

Officer Morgan Light is from Montpelier, Indiana and attended Indiana Tech for his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Before joining ICPD, Light worked for the Fairfield Police Department.

Both officers are certified by the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy and have participated in the department’s field training program.
