BREAKING: 1 person injured in officer-involved shooting in Aurora

AURORA | A fight in a northwest Aurora parking lot turned into an officer-involved shooting Thursday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital with injuries, police said.

The injured person was not an officer.

“Officers were responding to a report of a fight in a parking lot when the officer-involved shooting occurred,” police said in a social media post.

The shooting happened around 2 p.m

Police said the fight and shooting occurred in the 11900 block of East 16th Avenue, about two blocks east of the Fitzsimons campus.
