Residents charged with sexual assault of minors

MARTINEZ – A Concord man suspected of sexually abusing more than one person under the age of 14 has been charged with 11 felony and felony counts, according to authorities.

According to court records, Contra Costa County prosecutors have charged 47-year-old Emilio Martinez-Alarcon with six counts of committing a lewd act on a child; three counts of forcible indecent conduct against a child; and two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. All charges come with the addition that they were sex crimes with a specific circumstance, court documents say.

Concord police said in a statement they arrested Martinez-Alarcon on Sept. 25 following an investigation by its special victims unit. They said he was suspected of committing his crimes against more than one victim.

He remained held at the Martinez Detention Center Thursday in lieu of $11 million bail.

Police said they have reason to believe Martinez-Alarcon may have attacked other victims who did not report it. They posted his mugshot on their social media pages and asked anyone with additional information to contact Det. Clifton Huffmaster at 925-671-5080.
