1 injured; Woman charged after knife attack at Birchwood Apartments

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — One person is recovering after a knife attack at Birchwood Apartments and a woman has been charged with malicious wounding.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, a stabbing victim was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. LPD said its officers attempted to speak with the victim but would not provide details about the incident. Police said the victim is recovering from a non-life-threatening injury.

LPD said their initial investigation revealed that 57-year-old Anna Lee Coleman stabbed the victim.

“She was known to the victim and was charged with malicious wounding,” LPD said.
