Man charged with rape after allegedly breaking into a home and sexually assaulting a teenager in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — Charges are now facing a man accused of breaking into a Northeast Philadelphia home and sexually abusing a teenager.

Tyreek Collier, 28, was arrested Wednesday in the 6400 block of Charles Street.

According to police, around 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 18, he broke into a home in the 3000 block of Cottman Avenue and sexually assaulted a juvenile.

Investigators previously told Action News that shortly before the break-in and sexual assault, a man was seen trying out doors in the residential area.

Collier was charged with burglary, rape, indecent assault, statutory sexual assault and other related charges.
