Tribute to ‘beloved’ Donegal father who died in tragic accident in Australia

Tributes are pouring in for a “loved” Donegal father who died in a tragic accident in Australia.

Barry Breslin, 35, originally from Kilcar, is said to have lived in Perth for several years.

It is understood the young man suffered head injuries when he was struck by an excavator while working on the Mitchell Freeway and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where he died a short time later, The West Australian reports.

The obituary for Mr. Breslin states: “Barry Breslin tragically died following an accident in Perth, Australia.”

“Beloved father of his son Tommy.” He is sadly missed by his loving fiancée Melissa, his parents Mary and Seamus, his brothers Owen (Beth & Hazel) and Shane (Gerard).

Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.

Tributes poured in for the Donegal man, with one person writing: “Rip Barry.” Think of your little man, your wonderful partner, your family and your friends at this difficult time. May God watch over them and guide them through the most difficult days ahead.”

Another person said: “Rip Barry.” Will be sorely missed by all. My deepest condolences to the entire family.’

And a third person added: “Rest in peace beautiful boy.” Love and prayers to your heartbroken family. “Like a brilliant ray of sunshine illuminating a room that has disappeared too soon. Safe in the arms of Jesus.”
