Woman arrested after apparent stabbing

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office reported officers arrested a woman after she stabbed someone with a knife.

Officers were sent to a location south of London following an attack that caused injury. When officers arrived, they found a victim who reported being struck in the back of the head and stabbed in the right arm by a woman.

Witnesses at the scene also said the woman slashed a tire on the vehicle in the victim’s driveway.

Officers were able to locate the suspect, Darcie Shivelhood, 53, of London, walking down the street with the knife.

Shivelhood was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief.

Shivelhood was taken to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
