TV TECHNOLOGY: What do you think will be the key technology trends at NAB Show New York 2024?

DAVID ISOLA: AI tools and integration into production workflows (e.g. asset management, editing, etc.), cloud-based and remote production workflows and (always) storage solutions!

TVT: What will be your key product news?

ISOLA: We are pleased to launch our latest addition to our IP KVM Emerald solution: Emerald DESKVUE PE: An innovative workspace switch for signal distribution and processing. Emerald DESKVUE PE is a powerful, intelligent workspace switch that revolutionizes the KVM over IP experience, allowing users to seamlessly interact with and control up to 16 select systems simultaneously from a single multi-monitor console.

As part of the Emerald IP KVM ecosystem, the DESKVUE PE receiver enables individual operator configuration and supports up to four 4K/60Hz DisplayPort monitors on the desk or a video wall. Users experience intuitive interaction and superior control with easily customizable layouts and movable windows that simplify the management of large system landscapes.

TVT: How is your new product different from what is available on the market?

ISOLA: The PE offers higher performance than the existing DESKVUE family member, EMD5104-R. It supports more than 40% higher workload with precise user response. This is ideal for customers who need to display many 4K sources to the operator on multiple 4K or 5K screens.

A unique feature of DESKVUE PE is the fully customized visualization layout, which removes the limitations of predefined screen layouts and represents a major advantage over other solutions on the market. Users can freely select, move and arrange up to 16 system windows on and across their desktop monitors; Fix important systems in their focus view; Immediately change a system within a window tile. and select Private, Exclusive, or View Only team collaboration modes.

Additional benefits include integrated EmeraldAV WALL software, which allows direct access to a 2×2 video wall to share content for team collaboration. Embedded RDP/PCoIP/PCoIP Ultra Clients enable direct access to virtual machines without the need for additional transceivers, while reducing system complexity, footprint and cost compared to competing solutions.

TVT: What fascinates you about the NAB Show New York every year?

ISOLA: Unlike the Spring NAB Show in Las Vegas, the NAB Show New York is a more intimate experience that allows for deeper interaction between exhibitors and attendees/customers!
