Former New Jersey Child Protective Services caseworker charged with sexual assault

A former caseworker with the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency has been charged with sexual assault and official misconduct, authorities said Thursday.

Trent L. Collier, 58, formerly of Newark and most recently of Savannah, Georgia, is charged with second-degree sexual assault, attempted aggravated sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, official misconduct and two counts of third-degree felony sexual contact and enticement.

State police investigators said the charges involve two children.
