The Grundy County Sheriff reports the arrests of two men in the area

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of two local men on October 2nd.

Timothy Ray Harding of Polo is charged with multiple felony counts

Original charges against forty-year-old Timothy Ray Harding of Polo, already incarcerated at the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center, were dismissed and then refiled. Harding now faces two felony counts of third-degree assault and two felony counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child creating a substantial risk.

Harding’s bail was set at $100,000 cash only. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims and is scheduled to appear in the Grundy County District Court Associate Division on Oct. 8.

According to court documents, Harding is accused of inflicting bodily harm on a person on June 8 by striking the person in the face, resulting in bruising and a bleeding lip. Harding is also accused of endangering the welfare of two children under the age of 17. The allegations allege that Harding struck the first victim while restraining a child while another child was in close proximity, creating a significant risk to the children’s health and safety.

Court records show Harding was previously convicted of second-degree assault in Grundy County Circuit Court in January 2014 and August 2007.

Scott Edward Rhodes of Galt arrested for probation violation

In another case, 48-year-old Scott Edward Rhodes of Galt was arrested by the Lee’s Summit Police Department on a Capias warrant in connection with an alleged probation violation. Rhodes’ original charge was for the crime of resisting arrest, detention or detention by fleeing, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to another person.

Rhodes’ bail was set at $10,000 cash only. He is scheduled to appear in Grundy County Circuit Court First Division on Oct. 17.
