Kochi: A 30-year-old woman was found dead with her throat slit and her three-year-old daughter was rushed to hospital with serious injuries in Mulavukad on Thursday. The police assume that the woman is deceased suicide although they are also exploring other possibilities.
The deceased was identified as Dhanika PrabhakarWife of Ramakrishnan K from Mulavukad. Her daughter was found with a deep cut on her neck.
City police said that according to preliminary investigations, the woman killed herself after attempting to murder her daughter. She was reportedly undergoing treatment mental health problems.
According to sources, the couple’s parents are from Tamil Nadu and Ramakrishnan worked at a private bank in Kaloor. The family lived in Mulavukad where they had built a new house. According to sources, they used to live in Vaduthala. Police sources said that, according to neighbors, there were frequent arguments between the couple and that the two lived in separate rooms. The woman and her daughter were sleeping in another room.
The woman was found dead by Ramakrishnan around 9 am on Thursday. The police were soon alerted and a knife was found in the room.
After the autopsy, the body will be handed over to the relatives.
