Mother dies a few days after her daughter was stabbed in Tice

Authorities said the mother and daughter were stabbed in the head and neck.

Nearly two weeks after a mother and daughter were stabbed to death in their Tice home, the family says the second victim has died.

Shad Loveless, 45, and Zachary Williams, 21, both of Fort Myers, are charged with aggravated assault; second degree murder; and armed home invasion. Court records Wednesday night did not include amended charges in the second death.

Authorities announced the death of 27-year-old Emily Perry on September 22nd. Her mother, Traci Perry, 56, died Wednesday, the family wrote in a text message to The News-Press.

Assistant District Attorney Sara Miller filed a motion for pretrial detention for each of the men on Sept. 24, which Lee Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson granted the following day. Both remain in custody without bail.

Loveless was arrested during a traffic stop while Williams was arrested near his home, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office received a 911 call around noon on Sept. 20 from a woman who said she had been attacked during a robbery.

Detectives and crime scene technicians searched the area and learned that at the time of the attack, two men were seen arriving in the neighborhood and quickly leaving, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said a search of the victim’s cellphone also revealed a narcotics transaction was scheduled to take place at the home.

The sheriff’s office said the path to arresting Loveless and Williams involved hours of camera footage, license plate reading technology and cellphone records.

Investigators said Loveless and Williams planned to rob the women during the drug transaction, the sheriff’s office said. They stabbed both women.

According to the sheriff’s office, Traci Perry had five stab wounds to the head and neck area. Emily Perry had stab wounds to her neck and bleeding to her brain.

The sheriff’s office said a search of cellphone records revealed that Loveless communicated with Emily Perry leading up to the stabbings and stopped communicating immediately afterward.

As of Wednesday evening, a GoFundMe campaign for the victims had raised more than $6,700 toward its $50,000 goal.

Loveless and Williams are next due in court on October 28.
