“Don’t come to the show.”

“Don’t come to the show.”

Sabrina Carpenter has responded to criticism over her approach to sexuality on her Short N’ Sweet tour.

The singer recently released her flirtatious sixth album, Short N’ Sweet, and just kicked off her US tour supporting the album on September 23rd.

Now in an interview with TIMECarpenter has been open about her boudoir-inspired stage fashion and choreography, admitting that “you still meet the odd mother who has strong opinions about how you should dress.”

“And to that I just say, don’t come to the show, that’s fine,” she said. “It’s unfortunate that there was ever any reason for criticism because, honestly, going on stage in front of so many people and acting like it’s nothing is the most terrifying thing in the world.” If the only thing “If it’s the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that’s what you need to do.”

Carpenter also addressed shocked fans that she would express her sexuality in front of family members at her show at Madison Square Garden, and Carpenter responded, “My fans on the internet are saying, I can’t believe she’s coming out in front of her grandparents bows!”

“I think, girls, they don’t pay attention,” she continued. “They just say, I can’t believe all these people are here.”

Carpenter recently released “Short N’ Sweet,” which NME Rated four stars: “Musically, Carpenter mostly finds the niche she’s been looking for, comfortable in country-pop grooves like ‘Coincidence’ and ‘Please Please Please’ or frothy pop bops like ‘Taste’ and ‘ Juno’.

“Her individuality occasionally seems a little diluted; songs like ‘Good Graces’ and ‘Bed Chem’ are based on Ariana Grande’s image. “But on the whole, who Sabrina Carpenter is has never been clearer – and her long-awaited, hard-fought rise to the pop summit should continue with ease.”
