In separate shootings, two people were injured after shots were fired at homes north of Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Two people were seriously injured after they were found with gunshot wounds a short distance from each other Thursday morning.

The first shooting was reported just before 3 a.m. on Clooney Lane in north Charlotte. About ten minutes later, the second shooting was reported on Gibbon Road, just a few miles from the first.

Officers were at both crime scenes and examined the exterior areas of the homes. It is unclear whether the shootings are related, but a source said shots were fired into homes in both.

The paramedic said at each accident scene one person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear whether anyone has been arrested in either case and what may have led to the shootings.
