Big 12 Week 6 Schedule with Predictions

Big 12 Week 6 Schedule with Predictions

The Big 12 begins Week 6 with some crucial matchups in and out of conference. Let’s take a look at the other matchups besides West Virginia vs. Oklahoma State.

Houston at TCU

The Big 12 begins Week 6 on Friday night when the TCU Horned Frogs take on the Houston Cougars. TCU is 3-2 overall (1-1 in conference), while Houston has struggled, starting the year with a record of 1-4 (0-2 in conference). TCU won this match last year 36-13. Houston has yet to score a point in Big 12 play and has been shut out by Cincinnati and Iowa State. TCU is coming off a big win against Kansas last week after losing to SMU the week before. The Horned Frogs are currently the favorites with 16.5 points. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

forecast: TCU wins 35-17.

Baylor at Iowa State

Baylor heads on the road to face the 16th-ranked Cyclones. The Bears are 2-3 overall (0-2 in conference), while Iowa State remains undefeated at 4-0 (1-0 in conference). Last year, Iowa State won this match 30-18. The Cyclones are currently 11.5-point favorites. The game in Ames, Iowa, is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET under the lights of a white-out. Iowa State is trying to start 5-0 for the first time since 1980, while Baylor is looking for its first Big 12 win of the season.

forecast: Iowa State wins 30-17.

UCF at Florida

UCF heads north to face the Florida Gators in a non-conference in-state game. UCF suffered its first loss last weekend against a Colorado team that scored 48 points on the road. The Golden Knights are 3-1 overall (1-1 in conference), while the Gators are 2-2 (1-1 in conference). UCF looks to bounce back with a win over an SEC team, while Florida desperately needs a win as it faces a challenging schedule. Five of the Gators’ next seven opponents are currently ranked in the top 15. UCF is the away favorite by 2.5 points. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. ET at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, “The Swamp.”

forecast: Florida wins 31-27.

Kansas at Arizona State

Kansas travels to Tempe for a Big 12 matchup. Kansas entered the season ranked No. 22 in the preseason poll and moved up three spots to No. 19 after a Week 1 win against Lindenwood. However, the Jayhawks have lost four straight since then, including two conference losses to West Virginia and TCU. On the other hand, Arizona State started the season 3-0 but lost on the road to Texas Tech last week. The Sun Devils are looking for their first Big 12 win. Arizona State is currently the 3-point favorite, indicating a close battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.

forecast: Kansas wins 24-21.

Texas Tech @ Arizona

This is probably the Big 12’s best matchup this week as both teams are undefeated in conference play. Texas Tech is 4-1 and is coming off a shootout win over Cincinnati. Their only loss came in Week 1 against Washington State. Arizona had its best win of the year last week when it defeated 10th-ranked Utah to improve to 3-1. Their only loss came in Week 3 against currently ranked 20th-ranked Kansas State. Arizona is the favorite by 6.5 points. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 p.m. ET.

forecast: Arizona wins 35-27
