Hristo Georgiev made sexual advances towards two teenagers in his shop

A “predatory” hairdresser who made advances on two teenagers in his shop has been jailed for two years and three months.

Hristo Georgiev, 26, sexually touched two 15-year-olds by their clothing in separate incidents at Coedpoeth hair salon in Wrexham, Mold Crown Court heard.

Georgiev, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to inciting a 15-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity and received a 24-month prison sentence.

He also admitted two counts of sexually assaulting a man, for which he was sentenced to a further three months in prison.

“It is so wrong that parents cannot send their children to the hairdresser without ensuring they are safe from sexual abuse,” said Judge Niclas Parry.

Mold Crown Court heard one of the boys was touched in the groin area after being told to close his eyes to apply hairspray.

The second was lured into a back room and proposed to him.

Prosecutor Joshua Gorst said Georgiev began “a sexually charged conversation” with the first victim as he sat in the chair in the store this summer.

He began asking about his sexual experiences and felt “extremely uncomfortable.”

The teenager informed him that he was only 15 years old.

But after the haircut, Georgiev led him to a secluded area of the store and asked him the question: “Do you want to come here for the first time?”

Mr Gorst said the teenager later said the approach contained an “unmistakable sexual innuendo”.

Sexual advances in the backroom

He left the shop and told his mother, who reported the incident to North Wales Police.

Days later, another 15-year-old boy walked into the hair salon.

Georgiev asked him: “Are you horny” before suggesting a sexual act.

He then asked the boy about pornography and told the seated teenager to close his eyes.

The court was told Georgiev applied lemon-scented hairspray to him while he placed a hand on the boy’s groin and began touching his clothing suggestively.

Georgiev then urged the “visibly shocked” 15-year-old to accompany him to the back room, where he made further sexual advances.

The teenager fled and was caught by his father, who also reported the incident to the police.

Predatory behavior

Maria Masselis, defending Georgiev, told the court her client felt genuine remorse for his actions, which had brought shame on him and his family.

She said Georgiev, who used a Bulgarian interpreter during the sentencing hearing, worked as a kitchen porter for three years before emigrating to Britain.

The judge told Georgiev: “Not only was this behavior predatory, but the level of risk you were willing to take in a public place shows how far you were willing to go.”

“As the persistence of your actions made clear, you are clearly unable to control yourself.”

The attempted sexual offense was aborted because of the victim’s resistance and not because of the defendant’s withdrawal, he said.

“The boys would have been both deeply embarrassed and embarrassed,” the judge said.

“It is a testament to their honor and courage that they complained when they would undoubtedly have preferred it had never happened.

“Their actions may have protected others from similar behavior in the future.”

A 10-year sexual harassment prevention order was also imposed, banning Georgiev from unsupervised contact with boys under 16 unless certain conditions are met and requiring him to keep authorities informed of his whereabouts.
