A teenager was killed and another seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Paterson

A tragic accident in a Paterson neighborhood Wednesday evening left one teenager dead and another seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred near 419 Madison Avenue just before 8 p.m.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving numerous reports of a pedestrian accident.

Upon arrival, police and emergency services found two seriously injured teenagers who appeared to be sitting on a motorized bicycle.

Both victims were immediately taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.

One of the teens was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other remains in serious condition.

The police and criminal investigation department are investigating the cause of the accident and are continuing to collect evidence.

The investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released.
