Man recovering after shooting near Algonquin Park

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police said someone went to a hospital after a shooting near Algonquin Park but was not taken there by an ambulance.

Officers from LMPD’s 2nd Division responded to a ShotSpotter call just after 7:15 p.m. in the 1700 block of Cypress Street, where the Algonquin and Park DuValle neighborhoods meet, but found no one there. A short time later, they were notified of a man who was at the University of Louisville Hospital being treated for gunshot wounds.

Louisville Metro Police said the man is expected to survive, but there are no suspects at this time. The LMPD Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is currently investigating this case and anyone with information can call or use the police anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673). LMPD Crime Tip Portal.
