Tragic journey: Migrant worker succumbs to health complications in Tamil Nadu

Samar Khan, a 35-year-old farm worker from West Bengal, died at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Tamil Nadu. Khan, who was traveling in search of work, succumbed to acute kidney failure and ventilator-induced pneumonia, according to senior medical officials.

Khan, who was admitted on September 16 after complaining of vomiting and diarrhea, probably consumed contaminated food or water, which led to an intestinal infection. Despite undergoing dialysis seven times and being on a ventilator, he died on October 1st.

The tragedy reveals the risks and challenges faced by migrant workers, and Khan’s body returns to his home district of Purba Midnipur. Officials emphasize the importance of seeking timely help during emergencies to prevent similar incidents.
