One was killed in a traffic accident

A resident of Kad Gill village named Gurmeet Singh (42) died in a road accident on the old bypass road near the grain market on Tuesday when a speeding tractor collided head-on with his car. ASI Rachhpal Singh said that Gurmeet Singh was driving his Bolero car from Goindwal Sahib bypass to his village. The victim’s car was hit by a speeding tractor near a gas pump.

Satnam Singh, a relative of the deceased, said Gurmeet Singh was rushed to a private hospital in Amritsar after the accident where he succumbed to his injuries. A case under Sections 106 (2), 281 and 324 (4), (5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita has been registered against tractor driver Sarabjit Singh Saba, a resident of Dialpur village under Kacha jurisdiction, at Pakka police station.
