Barcelona have an important defender available against Alaves as the injury threat has passed

Barcelona returned to winning ways on Tuesday with a stunning win against Young Boys – their first Champions League success of the season. This weekend they want to get back on their feet in La Liga and are preparing for the game against Alaves.

As it is the last game before the international break, it is unlikely that Hansi Flick will rest any of his key players for the trip to Vitoria. However, there were doubts over Inigo Martinez’s availability after the veteran defender confirmed he had picked up a minor muscle problem in the win over Young Boys.

Luckily, Martinez will be fit to face Alaves, Sport reports. His discomfort is very minimal and is not expected to keep him out of action over the weekend.

Barcelona will be keen to ensure he is well on Sunday – he will have plenty of time to rest afterwards as there are still two weeks until the club’s next game.
