Merrimack Police are investigating a multi-car and motorcycle accident on Wire Road

MERRIMACK, NH – Merrimack Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel were dispatched to the report of a rollover accident involving three vehicles and a motorcycle. The accident was reported near the intersection of Bedford Road and Wire Road. When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist, Mark McAllister, 53, of Bedford, “on the ground with what appeared to be serious injuries,” said Sgt. Brandon Gagnon of the Merrimack Police Department.

McAllister was taken to Elliott Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other vehicles, a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 2017 Toyota Tacoma, were severely damaged. These drivers were screened and received no medical treatment.

“(The) preliminary investigation revealed that all three vehicles were traveling northbound on Wire Road near the intersection with Bedford Road,” Gagnon said. “The Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Paul Repp of Merrimack, approached the intersection without slowing or stopping and struck the motorcycle. After hitting the motorcycle, the Santa Fe then crashed into a Toyota Tacoma that appeared to be in the middle of a curve, causing it to overturn. Driver inattention appears to be a factor.”

The Tacoma was driven by Matthew Cummings, 67, of Merrimack.

Officers and the accident investigation team attended the scene and the road was closed for several hours. Gagnon said it has since reopened.

“All aspects of this incident are currently under investigation and charges may be filed,” he said.
