The governor of Wyoming has been fired from the state medical board by the governor and is asking the court to reinstate him

Although Republican Gov. Mark Gordon eventually signed the bill in March, the Daily Signal reported that he “reluctantly” signed it. A month later, Gordon Cubin emailed to announce he was being removed from the board, stating: “It is important that the professionals governed by the Board of Medicine have confidence that board members carry out their board responsibilities objectively and unbiasedly perceive.” .”

Gordon’s email accused Cubin of supporting the bill and criticism of the WMS on behalf of the entire board.

Cubin sued Gordon on August 29, arguing that his constitutionally protected right to free speech had been violated by the governor. He also argued that his email to the House of Representatives did not misrepresent his status as a private citizen. According to the lawsuit, he wrote “on his own behalf” and “from the perspective of a Wyoming physician who actually practices medicine at the hospital where he was born,” rather than as a spokesman for the Board of Medicine.

Cubin’s situation has also been met with complaints from Wyoming residents, who have sent Gordon more than 5,300 petitions calling for Cubin’s reinstatement.
