PITTSFIELD – A city resident was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in the area of ​​Kent Avenue late Tuesday, according to a statement released Wednesday evening by Pittsfield Police.

The 30-year-old victim, who has not been identified, remains in critical condition at Berkshire Medical Center after suffering at least one stab wound that resulted in a life-threatening injury, police said.

Investigators do not believe the attack was a random act and there is no known threat to the public, police said.

An apartment on Kent Avenue was searched Wednesday morning and police said they have identified a person involved in the stabbing.
